Viking Ring Valknut

The Valknut symbol has been found on at least three runestones, on a wooden bed from the Oseberg Ship and on a tapestry fragment also from Oseberg. While theories are boundless on the original meaning, many believe the symbol is connected with Odin, or has to do with slain warriors (based on the carved pictures that typically appear next to this symbol). For this reason, some have nicknamed this symbol as 'the knot of the slain'.
