Viking Ring Yggdrasil (Tree of Life)

 In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is an ash tree that is always green. With branches reaching across all nine kingdoms, it stands in the center of the world. Each realm hangs on a separate branch, yet if the tree were to wobble or fall, all the realms would follow.

Yggdrasil is also known as Mimir's tree. Other Germanic tribes have also adopted the concept of a world tree. Pagans in Saxony, Germany, worshipped an Irminsul tree. In the end, Charlemagne cut down this tree during the Saxon Wars in the eighth century.
